Chris DiCarlo is a widely recognized thought leader in international and U.S. nonprofit management. A veteran CEO with a passion for civil society, he has developed a distinctive template for transforming organizations based on his 25+ years of experience and service in the field. His additional background as a corporate banking executive with expertise in financial improvement and turnaround continues to enhance his not-for-profit work.
Chris’ novel change-management methodology has pragmatic applications ranging from developing strategy to aligning culture to dramatically increasing revenue, no matter the service area of the nonprofit or social venture in question. Measurable results and mission achievement are always paramount.
Those who know Chris best would describe him as the quintessential global citizen. His work across five continents has fostered a cross-cultural mindset that has been instrumental in shaping his approach to problem-solving. He has traveled to more than 60 countries, having spent several years working, studying, and living in the Global South (including an extended period in rural India). In the past few years, consulting opportunities have taken him to South America, Central Asia, West Africa, and Eastern Europe.
Regarding his chief executive roles, Mr. DiCarlo has led a youth development NGO with a worldwide presence, an internationally-focused art museum, a national mental health organization, and a local United Way in the Carolinas.
Having grown up in city-owned housing in the Rockaway Park neighborhood of NYC, he spent a great deal of time playing tennis on public courts and rooting for his beloved New York Mets. Following this, Chris earned a BA from Dartmouth College (in History/Art History), where he received the James K. Colby scholarship for his public service.
Chris also holds an MBA and an MPP degree from the University of Chicago, as well as a series of professional certificates on subjects related to pressing global challenges. He is a proud graduate of Regis High School in Manhattan.
